Mandera County Referral Hospital launches state-of-the-art dental unit

In a significant milestone for healthcare in Mandera County, the Mandera County Referral Hospital has officially launched a modern dental unit.
This advancement highlights the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to the community.

Equipped with the latest dental technology, including intraoral X-rays and other advanced accessories, the unit is designed to ensure that every individual has access to the best possible dental services.
The newly launched unit will have a team of nine skilled dental professionals, including a consulting restorative dentist.
It will also provide dental extractions, fillings, root canal treatments, scaling and polishing, partial and complete dentures, mandibular maxillary fixation, and splinting, among other things.
Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif, during the launch of the new dental unit, announced that the county will continue to invest more revenue into health facilities to expand the range of services available at Mandera County Referral Hospital.
"We must ensure that our health facilities are properly managed to meet the needs of Mandera residents," Governor Khalif emphasised.
Mandera County is strengthening the foundation of primary health care (PHC) in addition to the new dental unit.
The PHC system is focused on delivering comprehensive, accessible, and community-based health services.
These services prioritise prevention, health promotion, and the management of common illnesses, ensuring that essential healthcare is available to all residents, particularly the most vulnerable populations.
This strategic expansion in healthcare services marks a critical step forward in improving health outcomes across Mandera County, ensuring that residents have access to both basic and specialised medical care.
